My partner has a personal fitness coach. This coach gives him challenges, such as, “Do this exercise ten times”, “Do that exercise twenty times”, and “Now do five laps around the park”. And it works. He follows all instructions and enjoys making progress. He says he wouldn’t do any of it if someone wasn’t challenging him.
Maybe we should do something like that in our jobs too?
