Most Advice from Experts Sucks

Many experts don’t offer guidance with step-by-step instructions; they offer only one option, which is their preferred practice, and they don’t motivate people toward habit-forming.

Last month, I went to my private doctor because I had developed a pain in my left upper leg that refused to go away, quite likely caused by overenthusiastic running. The doctor didn’t know for sure what the problem was, so he sent me to an expert: a sports doctor.
